The research process is not simply collecting data, evidence, or “facts”, “then copy-and-pasting” this preexisting information into a paper. Instead, the research process is about investigation —asking questions and developing answers through serious critical thinking and thoughtful reflection.

On May 22, the scientific and practical workshop “Aspects of academic writing in Poland” has been held. It has been organized by Zaporizhzhia National University and Cuiavian University in Włocławek under the assistance of the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation.
Vikhliaiev Mykhailo Yuriiovych, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Executive Director of the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation, has commenced the workshop with an opening speech. Then, Vasylchuk Hennadii Mykolaiovych, Doctor of History, Professor, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs and Kahanov Yurii Olehovych, Doctor of History, Associate Professor, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Zaporizhzhia National University have expressed their welcome address and wished the participants inspiration for new research activities.
The workshop has been held by mgr Joanna Skiba, Head of Foreign Language Department, Head of International Office at Cuiavian University in Włocławek, Poland, expert in adult education and e-learning. During the performance, Joanna has told about a new law in Poland concerning the issues of academic writing (https://konstytucjadlanauki.gov.pl/), the assessment of the scientific level of the research papers and methodology for gaining points, the most common journal types and what makes an academic research paper. She also has stressed that plagiarism is dealt with very severely in Poland, and possible penalties include permanent withdrawal from the University. At the end of the talk, Joanna Skiba has given some advice on the motivation to write a research paper.
Kolomoiets Tetiana Oleksandrivna, Doctor of Law, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Dean of Law Faculty of Zaporizhzhia National University, and Kolpakov Valerii Kostiantynovych, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of Administrative and Business Law of Zaporizhzhia National University, have summed up the workshop. The scholars have expressed their hope for further cooperation.
