Thanks to the efforts of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Political Sciences and International Relations of Lviv Polytechnic National University and the Institute of Political Sciences of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (the Republic of Poland), the forum “Eastern Policy of the European Union: Achievements, Challenges and Prospects” took place on May 27-28, 2021.
It is worth mentioning the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation was the forum’s media partner.
The scientific forum encompassed six sections that came under the notice of the representatives of Ukrainian, Polish, and Latvian educational institutions and non-governmental organizations.
The scientific event was opened by educators and representatives of local authorities, as follows:
- Nataliia Chukhrai – Vice Rector for Academic and International Affairs, Lviv Polytechnic National University;
- Paweł Wielgosz – Vice Rector for International Affairs, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn;
- Petro Krainik – representative of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, Expert of Jean Monnet Programme;
- Iryna Hrymak – Head of Lviv Regional Council;
- Miron Sych – Deputy Marshal of Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship;
- Andrii Pavliv – Director of Lviv Conference Bureau of Lviv Regional Council;
- Iaroslav-Ivan Muzychko – Head of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of Lviv Regional State Administration;
- Danuta Pśiwara, President of Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in Warsaw;
- Oksana Yurynets – People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation;
- Arkady Żukowski – Director of the Institute of Political Sciences, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn;
- Teresa Astramovich-Leik – Professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Head of the International Cooperation Committee of the Assembly of Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship of the 6th conviction;
- Iaryna Turchyn – Director of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
A round table “Regional dimension of EU initiative “Regional Dimension of the EaP initiative in Ukraine” was the most substantive and interesting at the forum which engaged:
- Iaroslav-Ivan Muzychko – Head of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of Lviv Regional State Administration;
- Teresa Astramovich-Leik – Professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Head of the International Cooperation Committee of the Assembly of Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship of the 6th conviction;
- Lukash Bielevski – Director of the Department of International Cooperation of Marshal Office of Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship;
- Olha Yutovets – Director of the Department of International Cooperation and European Integration of Rivne Regional State Administration;
- Volodymyr Kvurt – Chief of Standing Committee on Budget and Socio-Economic Development of Lviv Regional Council;
- Ievhen Mahda – Director of the Institute of World Politics, Associate Professor at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”;
- Arkadiusz Żukowski – Director of the Institute of Political Sciences, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn;
- Tetiana Sydoruk – Head of the Department of International Relations, National University of “Ostroh Academy”.
In addition, under the framework of the scientific forum, students, postgraduate and postdoctoral students from Ukraine and Poland had an opportunity to present their research and communicate with experts in international relations.
Following the results of the forum “Eastern Policy of the European Union: Achievements, Challenges and Prospects”, a scientific journal “Humanitarian Vision” will publish a monograph and a series of articles.
