On December 7, the fifth ZOOM lecture was presented under the scientific and pedagogical internships for art experts. The speaker was Drach Iryna Stepanivna, Doctor of Arts, Professor, Head of the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Music, Kharkiv National I.P. Kotlyarevsky University of Arts.
The scientist is interested in studying the artistic journey of a composer Vitalii Hubarenko. Iryna Stepanivna devoted her dissertation to this issue “Aspects of manifesting composer’s individuality in modern culture (based on the legacy of Vitalii Hubarenko). The speaker is also stydying Ukrainian music literature and the history of establishing Kharkiv National I.P. Kotlyarevsky University of Arts.
The lecture was entitled “Art and creative-educational practice in the focus of expert’s assessments”. The lecturer told participants how to respond to criticism and how the art and culture community to pick up only tips. Although the above seems complicated at first glance, it is possible. It particularly refers to feedback and comments provided by experts; they can help correct activity and steer it on the right course. In general, when analyzing expert assessments, it is essential to consider the fact that many artists were underappreciated by critics as their legacy was positively reviewed only after their death. Among the well-known composers, the above concerns Franz Schubert, Modest Mussorgsky, Georges Bizet, and Johann Sebastian Bach. They are united by the fact that neither critics nor creators could understand the music they composed. Only after years or even centuries, the achievements of these artists begin to be considered genius. It is challenging to explain this fact.
It is possible that the composers were born, as they say, not in their time, but it is more likely that the experts of that time did not want to perceive something qualitatively new and develop it.
Summing up the lecture, we hold that Iryna Stepanivna inspired all participants and motivated them not to give up during their creative path.
