The Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation supports a purposeful and motivated expert Olesia Vashchuk as a candidate for the post of Ombudsperson in Education.
On May 17, 2019, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced the selection of candidates for Ombudsperson in Education. The issue was controlled by the specially created commission under the MES. The Institute of Ombudsperson in Education is formed for the protection of the rights of students, academic and research staffs. The position of Ombudsperson in Education has well-defined requirements. In particular, a person can’t combine his/her work with other activities, except creative and teaching ones; the candidate has to be a citizen of Ukraine living on the territory at least 5 years and should have higher educational attainment and relevant professional experience as well as fluency in the mother tongue.
The Commission under the MES recommended three candidates for the position of Ombudsperson in Education, among them there is Olesia Vashchuk, Head of the Board of the Non-Governmental Organisation “International Development Foundation”.
Vashchuk Olesia Petrivna is a citizen of Ukraine, has a higher education: she graduated from the National University “Odesa Law Academy” with a degree in Law (Bachelor, Master) and in Public Service (Master), State Institution “South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky” with a degree in Psychology (Specialist, Master).
Olesia Petrivna is Doctor of Juridical Sciences and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Criminalistics. She has experience in education and science for over 7 years, as follows:
– Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Criminalistics of the National University “Odesa Law Academy”;
– Senior Lecturer at the Department of Criminalistics of the National University “Odesa Law Academy”.
At the moment of documents submission, Vashchuk O.P. is Head of the Board of the Non-Governmental Organisation “International Development Foundation”.
NGO “International Development Foundation” is a partner of the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation and has similar priorities. The main objective of the International Development Foundation is to optimize reality; innovations and integrations; satisfaction and protection of legitimate social, creative, economic, scientific and cultural interests; assistance in solving environmental problems, protection, facilitation of promoting the development of the environmental affairs; conducting education, scientific, cultural and public awareness activities to contribute to the establishment of a democratic civil society; support for gender equality.
Now, the process of discussing the appointment of Ombudsperson in Education is continuing. It is a very significant post, and it is of great relevance for society. The Ministry of Education and Science decided to present the recommended three candidates in order the public could familiarize themselves with the applicants.
