We kindly invite academic and research staff, museum experts, officers of culture institutions, communication professionals, and all who deal with historical memory, narratives and public visions of the past to participate in the all-Ukrainian scientific-pedagogical advanced training.

The All-Ukrainian scientific and pedagogical advanced training is aimed at developing modern competencies in the field of memory politics, public history, and professional communication of historical knowledge. The program combines European experience in working with historical memory, analysis of Ukrainian controversies, and ethical standards for teachers and researchers.

During training, the participants will:

  • learn about institutional models for implementing a culture of remembrance in contemporary Germany and tools for dealing with traumatic pasts;
  • analyze controversial aspects of memory politics in Ukraine and mechanisms for overcoming post-Soviet narratives;
  • master the principles of public history, teachers’ professional responsibility, and ethical communication of historical knowledge in educational and social environments.

All participants will be provided with a collection of abstracts and an electronic certificate.

The workload of advanced training consists of 6 credits ECTS (180 hours) and distributes 6 hours each day for 6 business weeks.

Filipovych Myroslava Bohdanivna – PhD in History, Associate Professor, Honorary Professor of the Baltic Research Institute of Transformation Economic Area Problems (Riga, Republic of Latvia), Associate Professor at the Department of Document Science and Information Activity of the Academy of Recreational Technologies and Law;

 Kornovenko Serhii Valeriiovych – Doctor of History, Professor, Professor at the Department of Archaeology and Specialized Branches of Historical Science, Director of the Research Institute of Peasantry and Agrarian History of Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy;

Strilchuk Liudmyla Vasylivna – Doctor of History, Professor, Head of the Department of World History of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.

THE EVENT INCLUDES THREE ZOOM LECTURES:

26th February, 11:00 lecture “Institutions and Tools for Implementing Culture Memory in Contemporary Germany”. Speaker – Kornovenko Serhii Valeriiovych.

2nd March, 10:00 – lecture “Controversial Nature of Memory Politics in Contemporary Ukraine: Problems of Overcoming Post-Soviet Narratives”. Speaker – Strilchuk Liudmyla Vasylivna.

16th March, 10:00 lecture “Public History and Teachers’ Responsibility. Speaker – Filipovych Myroslava Bohdanivna.

A link to the online lecture will be sent to all participants after paying participation fees. Online lectures will be saved.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

Participation form: remote.

Persons who are interested in participation should before February 20, 2026 (inclusively):

1) fill an application form;

2) send a copy of payment confirmation to Organizing advanced_training@cuesc.org.ua (the coordinator provides you with payment details when you fill in an application).

NB!

From February 23 to April 5, 2026 (inclusively), during the advanced training, participants should send research-methodological abstracts to advanced_training@cuesc.org.ua.

RE: Advanced training on memory institutions

Participation in the scientific and pedagogical advanced training without research and methodological report is impossible.

After May 22, 2026, the collection of abstracts and certificates will be sent to the postal addresses indicated in the form. 

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY:

The Organizing Committee of the All-Ukrainian Advanced training guarantees high-quality anonymous peer-review of each contribution. All papers are subject to check for plagiarism using StrikePlagiarism.com by the Polish company Plagiat.pl.

PROHIBITION ON USING THE AGGRESSOR STATE’S SCHOLARLY PAPERS:

Languages: Ukrainian and English. It is prohibited citing and including in the reference list Russian-language publications published in any country, including papers written in other languages but published in russia and belarus.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ABSTRACTS:

Volume – from 2 to 5 pages, А-4, Microsoft Word.

Font – Times New Roman, size – 14; line spacing – 1,5; the first line indention – 1,25 cm; margins – 2 cm.

Sequence of materials in abstracts: title (semi-bold capitals); the author’s surname and initials (semi-bold); academic degree, rank (if any), post, place of employment (study); text.

A file should be titled in accordance with the participant’s surname and initials (for example: Shevchenko T.H._abstracts).

References (without repetitions) are at the bottom of the text taking into account the National Standard of Ukraine DSTU 8302: 2015 “Information and documentation. Bibliographic reference. General principles and rules of composition”. Citations in the text should be marked with numerical order of a source according to the list and page (pages) number, for example [5, p. 26].
