The international conference devoted to the issues of hybrid wars took place in European Humanities University (Vilnius, the Republic of Lithuania)

1857

On August 16–17, the conference on social sciences “Challenges of hybrid war: information dimension” organised by European Humanities University took place in Vilnius (the Republic of Lithuania). The conference topic is relevant both for Ukraine and partners of the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation in Lithuania.

European Humanities University has an interesting and quite a checkered past that is somewhat similar to the history of our Taurida National V.I.Vernadsky University. It also started activities in one city and over time, due to certain circumstances, was forced to cease its functioning and recommence its operation in another city. The university history dates back to 1992 with its establishment in Minsk by a group of intellectuals. EHU was one of the national leaders of internationalization and liberalization of higher education in Central and East Europe. After the closure of the university by the Belarusian authorities in 2004, the EHU was forced to cease activities. However, despite all the troubles, in the fall of 2005, the university recommenced its operation in Lithuania and started the implementation of training programs. Now, the university is located in the Lithuanian city of Vilnius.

The following burning issues were discussed at the conference: definition of “hybrid war”: historical and theoretical aspects; political mobilization of Ukrainian society in the context of hybrid war; counteraction to negative information effects on a man and society in the context of hybrid war; fundamentals of sovereign development of countries in the context of hybrid wars.
