The General Meeting of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine was held on October 15, 2020. The institution started its activity as All-Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences as far back as on May 22, 1931! On January 6, 2010, it was granted a national status and renamed as the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
On October 15, 2020, Vozhehova Raisa Anatoliivna, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Director of the Institute of Irrigated Agriculture of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine, was elected an Academician on the Speciality “Agricultural melioration“ at the General Meeting of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine by secret ballot of full members (academicians), corresponding members of NAAS.
Her treasury of professional achievements already includes various awards: Gratitude of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine (2010), Honorary Diplomas of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine( 2010, 2015, 2019), Honorary Award of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine (2012), Award of the Award of the International Academy of Rating Technologies and Sociology “Golden Fortune” (2018) and many others.

NAAS is a self-regulated state-owned scientific institution, a governmental organization founded as a non-profit state-financed institution.
The main purpose of NAAS is the scientific stimulation of the branches of the agro-industrial complex, which involves:
- performing fundamental scientific research, organization, holding and coordination of applied scientific research on the agro-industrial complex, development of knowledge products for innovative development of the agro-industrial complex to increase the production output;
- methodical coordinating researches performed by scientific institutions and higher education institutions, design centers and other organizations;
- developing new and advancing existent forms, methods and ways to conduct scientific work;
- increasing the status value of the scientific activity;
- facilitating the integration of domestic agrarian science into the global research area;
participating in the formation of state scientific and technical policy;- carrying out the analysis and estimation of priority areas for development the agro-industrial complex;
- providing information services to the subjects of agro-industrial production regardless of form of ownership;
- producing basic seeds and seeds of highest reproductions, seedlings of agricultural crops, breeding products;
- preserving genotypes of agricultural plants and animals, collection of strains of beneficial and pathogenic microorganisms;
- organizing and holding the scientific expeditions and expeditionary research;
- preparing academic personnel and their further training;
- searching and supporting the gifted scientists, facilitating creative growth of young scientists;
- engaging scientific and teaching staff of higher education institutions of Ukraine in carrying out scientific research in the field of agro-industrial complex, involving the scientists of NAAS in teaching;
- participating of leading scientists of NAAS, higher education institutions and other scientific organizations in academic councils, committees, commissions and other advisory bodies of NAAS.
NAAS exercises its powers through the General Meeting, Presidium and its Bureau, departments and scientific institutions, as well as the members of NAAS. The composition of NAAS includes the full members (academicians), corresponding members, foreign members and employees of scientific institutions (organizations, enterprises) under its purview.
