A meeting with representatives of ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences took place in Alytus

On March 14, 2019, Oleh Holovko and Mykhailo Vikhliaiev, members of the Executive Board of the Center of Ukrainian and European, visited a Lithuanian ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences. The Lithuanian education establishment was represented by heads of departments and faculties of the University.

ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences was established in 2000 with the adoption of the new Law on Higher Education which introduced a binary system of higher education in Lithuania. Two faculties of Engineering and Biomedicine and ICT operate within the University where study programmes on social, technological and biomedical sciences are provided. The aim of the University is to develop academic and professional competences in the study fields of Management and Business Administration, Informatics, Informatics Engineering, Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, Food Processing and Health.

ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA co-operates with foreign institutions of higher education, business and education associations and also deals with applied researches in social sciences, engineering sciences, humanities and physical sciences contributing curriculum development, adult education and distance learning. During the meeting, the representatives of the University invited Ukrainian scientists to participate in the international applied research conference “Information technologies 2019: theory, practice, innovations” which is scheduled on May 9, 2019. The articles based on conference reports will be published in the reviewed publication of academic papers “Role of Higher Education Institutions in Society: Challenges, Tendencies and Perspectives”. In the context of the cooperation arrangements, the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation will be conference information partner distributing data about the event among Ukrainian scientists and researchers. In addition, the participants of the meeting outlined possible ways of further cooperation in the form of conducting joint international scientific projects, which are scheduled in the course of 2019.
