International scientific-practical online conference “Identity and social cohesion in Central and Eastern Europe” was successfully held

On April 22, 2021, International scientific-practical online conference “Identity and social cohesion in Central and Eastern Europe” was held due to the organization of South Ukrainian branch of the Sociological Association of Ukraine (the SAU) (represented by prof. Olena Liseienko) and Lviv branch of the SAU (represented by prof. Nataliia Kovalisko), Institute of Sociology of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (represented by dr. Andrii Yekaterynchuk), Maria Grzegorzewska University (represented by prof. dr hab Ryszard Radzik), Association of Sociologists and Demographists of the Republic of Moldova (represented by dr. Viktor Mocanu) and Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation.
More than 80 scientists from Ukraine, Poland, France, and Moldova took part the professional scientific discussion. More than 200 people joined online Facebook live.

Valentyna Podshyvalkina “Political contexts of the changes of identification preferences in the neighboring countries: the case of Moldova and Poland”.
The conference involved discussions about modern trends in the changes of the identity of citizens of Central East Europe, a phenomenon of social cohesion and social solidarity in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic (from local and regional to global), geopolitical and socio-cultural dimensions of the cohesion and solidarity, cross-border scientific cooperation, transnational academic mobility, transnational labormigration, a phenomenon of tolerance.
The conference was fruitful and helpful. It contributed to further cross-border cooperation between the scientific communities of Ukraine, Poland, France and the Republic of Poland.
