On May 24, 2019, Scholarship Committee consisting of staff of the Department of Constitutional Law and Comparative Jurisprudence of Uzhhorod National University headed by Director of the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation, Doctor of Juridical Sciences, Professor Dmytro Bielov identified three best kinds of research.

As a result of the analysis of the papers submitted for the competition, it was found that most of them are devoted to the problems of human rights in various areas of law enforcement (child rights, the right to health care, gender equality, environmental human rights, prisoners’ rights, etc.). It is interesting to note that young scholars were braved to deal with burning issues, in particular, Ukrainian-Russian military conflict, human rights of the fourth generation, inclusive education, internally displaced persons, the war-time situation and others.

A paper was evaluated on the basis of various criteria, in particular: tasks statement and their solution, scientific novelty of the paper, logic and consistency of information presentation, conclusions of the study, compliance with the requirements for References, etc. It is noted that students mainly chose important scientific topics, interesting title. At the same time, in some cases, the tasks were not achieved in the study, data presentation was not always logical, and the conclusions were sometimes too extend and unclear.

In general, the Commission was satisfied with the amount and especially the quality of the submitted competition papers. The condition of the Competition stipulates that 40 papers determined by the Scholarship Committee will be gratuitously published in the collection of scholarly articles of the Scholarship Competition on the issues of protection, implementation and security of human rights, which will be distributed among participants together with a certificate of participation. However, in the light of the high quality of submitted papers, the Committee decided to publish all 53 kinds of research in the collection. Thus, every participant will be provided with the collection and certificate of participation.

We are glad to announce and congratulate the winners of the Scholarship Competition of Research Papers on Protection,
