In the context of the extension of international cooperation, the Executive Board of the Center for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation represented by Bielov Dmytro Mykolaiovych, Doctor of Law, Professor, visited the Technical University of Košice (Technická univerzita v Košiciach). Košice is one of the largest research and educational, industrial centres of the Slovak Republic. The Technical University of Košice was founded in 1952 as Higher Technical School, and now it is one of the leading technical higher education establishments of Slovak.
The meeting was held under the direction of Ervin Lumnitzer, Vice Rector of the Slovak University. He presented the Technical University of Košice as a state higher education establishment which provides a wide range of educational services demanded both in the East Slovak and far beyond its boundaries. Concerning diversity of academic and scientific disciplines, the higher education establishment is actually the unique scientific centre not only in Slovak but also in the whole Central European space.
The challenges of training students of technical specialities in Ukraine and Slovak were actively discussed during the meeting. The parties expressed their opinions on the change of role and position of higher technical education at the modern stage of development of EU countries. The Technical University of Košice works side by side with leading European HEIs. One of the topical issues discussed during the conversation was the implementation of mutual scientific events for academic staff from Slovak and Ukraine. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed upon future cooperation.
