The second of three planned online lectures on “Innovative approaches in teaching law: international standards, economic integration and digital development” has been held. The event was organised by the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs and the Centre for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation.
The speakers at the event were Sinkevych Olena, Doctor of Laws, Professor, Professor at the Department of Constitutional Law, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine.
The lecture was devoted to the topic “Evolution of national legislation: implementation of international standards (on the example of legislation on national minorities)”.
The lecturer talked about the constitutional and legal regulation of the status of national minorities in Ukraine, revealed the peculiarities of the evolution of the current legislation in this area, defined international standards for the protection of national minorities and emphasized their role in Ukraine’s fulfillment of its international obligations, in particular in cooperation with the Council of Europe and the European Union.
In summary, the lecture was very interesting and useful for the audience and all participants gained a lot of new information.
