Course of online lectures on innovative approaches to teaching law launched as part of professional development programme

The first of three planned online lectures on “Innovative Approaches to Teaching Law: International Human Rights Standards, Economic Integration and Digital Development” has been held. The event was organised by the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs and the Centre for Ukrainian and European Scientific Cooperation.

The speakers at the event were:

Mishyna Natalia, Doctor of Laws, Professor, Professor of the Constitutional Law Department of the National University “OJA”, Researcher at the SAGE Laboratory of the University of Strasbourg, France, Marie Sklodowska Curie Action Fellow (2023-2025);

Kuzina Ruslana, Doctor of Economics, Certified Business Coach, ACCA DipFR, CAA, Certified Auditor, Professor at the Department of Accounting, Audit and Analysis, Odessa National Economic University, Marie Sklodowska Curie Action Fellow (2023-2025) at KU Leuven (Belgium).

The first part of the presentation was given by Professor Mishyna, who spoke about sustainable development in jurisprudence. She spoke about the importance of taking into account the concept and standards of sustainable development in the protection of human rights in Ukraine and emphasised their role in the fulfilment of Ukraine’s international obligations, in particular in cooperation with the Council of Europe and the European Union. The speaker then presented her views on the role of sustainable development in Ukraine in the implementation of international human rights standards and international urban standards.

The second part of the presentation was given by Professor Kuzina, who spoke about the components of sustainable development from an economic perspective, in particular international standards and conceptual frameworks for non-financial reporting, initiatives of the UN and other regulators aimed at promoting corporate social responsibility and reporting on the implementation of such policies, and the impact of globalisation on the socio-economic components of sustainable development.

In summary, the lecture was very interesting and useful for the audience and all participants gained a lot of new information.
